Located in the heart of scenic wilderness country, Vermilion River Cottages, is 21 miles northeast of Cook, Minnesota. Vermilion River Cottages is a unique family resort that offers our guests access to three of the highest rated wilderness and recreation attractions in Northern Minnesota:

  • The Vermilion River
  • Lake Vermilion
  • The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness

We hope that if you are looking for a quiet, quaint, relaxing and remote experience you give Vermilion River Cottages (VRC) a try! Here you will find five cottages with many of the comforts of home nestled at the headwaters of the Vermilion River. There is a boat ramp and 2 stationary docks for your use to access the river. Many folks who stay here are also headed to Lake Vermilion. VRC does not have direct access to Lake Vermilion however there is a public boat launch 4 miles away. You could also plan a day(s) to visit the many other lakes in our area, or access different sections of the Vermilion River. The adventure possibilities in the surrounding areas are exciting and seemingly endless. Whether you are looking to fish, hike, canoe, bike, bird and nature watch, or perhaps all of the above VRC can provide you with a wonderful home base experience. Our hopes for you is that you can get outdoors and emerge yourself into your favorite activities and connect with nature. All while knowing your comfy cottage awaits you with a full kitchen and bath, living room, bedrooms, and outdoor deck. We hope you will always feel welcome at Vermilion River Cottages!
